The Thrashers

Nick - Lead singer, bass player; Charles - rhythm guitar; Chris - drums; Geddy - lead guitar; Brandon - keyboards

The Thrashers met while in, of all places, a day care center owned and operated by Charlie’s mom. In between bouts of Sesame Street and popsicle snacks, the lads became fast friends. The kids grew up (make that, “are still growing up”) in Pacifica, CA, a popular surfing and mountain biking town best known to outsiders as the place where Harold drove his car off the cliff at the end of Harold and Maude.

But the five kids are aiming to put the city on the map for a different reason - as the home to the Thrashers, a tween hard rock quintet whose career is moving faster than a speeding bullet.

The Thrashers set up in Chris and Nick’s garage and got to work hammering out music in the vein of Black Sabbath, AC/DC and Metallica. Soon, they were ready to take the stage at their elementary school talent show. The Thrashers blew everyone’s mind when their audiences realized that this wasn’t just a bunch of kids goofing off on guitar.

In between doing their favorite things - playing with Nerf guns, Lego kits, riding skateboards, baseball and surfing - the group set about a determined rehearsal schedule and set their sites on ruling the metal world. The group hooked up with Brent Turner whose former band once ruled the fabled Sunset Strip that the Thrashers would soon have their eye on.

Turner set the band up with gigs up and down the coast, helping them become the youngest band to ever play the legendary Whisky in Los Angeles, a club whose stage hosted bands including the Doors and Motley Crue.

This summer, the Thrashers recorded ten tracks with legendary producer Sylvia Massy and Turner at the production helm.

Currently winding up the fourth grade (which puts them one grade ahead of the South Park kids…), life has changed for the Thrashers. Their teachers dress up as The Thrashers for Halloween, and fans ask them for their autographs. But one thing that will never change is their love of the music they play, and the kids’ appreciation for their fans.
